We start this week’s recap in the NBA with a high-scoring result that saw the Dallas Mavericks overpower the New Orleans Pelicans 133 to 124 on Sunday. Impressive displays from the powerful duo of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving saw the Mavericks win a consecutive game in style following the 144-126 triumph over the Clippers earlier in the week. The Slovenian point guard scored 30 points, 4 rebounds, and 9 assists.

Meanwhile, Irving made 7 of 10 3-pointers and scored 35 points, adding 6 rebounds and 7 assists to his
tally.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves edged the Golden State Warriors in a thrilling 116-110 win. The Warriors continue their run of poor results to the season with a 3rd consecutive defeat. Meanwhile, their star player, Stephen Curry, continues his record-breaking career with 11 straight games with four or more 3-pointers. This time, he made 5 out of 13 and had 38 points in total, besides 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Still, it was not enough to triumph over the Timberwolves, led by an inspired Anthony Edwards (33 points,
6 rebounds, 7 assists).

Earlier this week, NBA viewership recovered by 9% following a significant drop due to the viewers favoring the World Series games in the NFL. Nearly 1.26M people tuned in to see the Grizzlies defeat the Trail Blazers (112-110), and 1.65M watched Victor Wembanyama’s Madison Square Garden debut as the Spurs lost 105 to 126 to the NY Knicks. Speaking of the NFL, the past week has seen some impressive results and wholesome moments. The latter regard especially Kyler Murray’s return after 11 months on the sidelines to captain his Arizona Cardinals to a nail-biting comeback win by 25 to 23 over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. The 26-year-old QB delighted rookie manager Jonathan Gannon and the fans with a total of 249 passing yards, 19/32 CP/ATT, and 1 interception.

Unfortunately, the Falcons lost more than the game against Arizona. They also saw QB Taylor Heinicke injure his hamstring in a significant blow to the franchise’s hopes. Elsewhere, week 10 in the NFL saw CJ Stroud shine once more as he led the Houston Texans in a spectacular, last-second win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. The young QB threw for 356 yards, including the last pass of the game that saw new signing Matt Ammendola score the game-winning 38-yard field goal.

Meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers overpowered the Jacksonville Jaguars in a 34-3 win that the latter will want to forget ASAP. Earlier this week, the Chicago Bears edged the Carolina Panthers 16 to 13 in a Thursday Night Football game on Amazon Prime Video that recorded an audience of 9.56 million viewers. However, ABC and ESPN may rake in even more TV spectators when the Denver Broncos square up against the Buffalo Bills on Monday night.
